It's a screen door that disappears when you don't need it. The screen rolls into a slim aluminum housing on one side of your door frame. Pull it across when you want fresh air. Let go and it rolls back in — slowly, no slamming.
Your door looks exactly the same with or without it. No screen in the way, no hardware hanging off the frame. It also solves a problem traditional screen doors can't — outswing doors. If your door swings outward, a hinged screen door would clash right into it. A retractable screen mounts to the side of the frame and stays out of the way completely.
People also call them invisible screen doors, disappearing screen doors, and pocket screen doors — it's the same product just with different names.

Who we are and how we build retractable screen doors.
Got a front door, French doors, a patio slider, or a wide bi-fold opening? We build screens for all of it — single panels up to double-wide, custom measured to your door.
Our most popular application. French doors are meant to open up a room — retractable screens let you do that without the tackiness of a traditional screen door. The classic solution is two screens that meet in the middle. Apollo can also cover the full opening with a single screen on select configurations — one of only two manufacturers able to do this, because our slow-close mechanism means no slamming. Either way, when the screens retract you'd never know they were there.

Nobody wants to look at a screen door. When it's retracted, your front door looks exactly the way it did before. And when you've got your hands full of groceries, no more wrestling with a slamming door — just walk through with easy one-handed operation.

Replace your worn-out sliding screen track with a retractable screen that actually works. Glides on precision tracks — no jumping off the rail, no sticking. Works with standard 6-foot sliders and oversized 8, 10, or 12-foot patio doors.

For openings wider than a standard door — bi-fold doors, multi-slide systems, and open-air living rooms. Apollo builds motorized retractable screens up to 20 feet wide. One button press extends or retracts the full screen.
Explore large opening screensEvery Apollo retractable screen door has four main components: the housing cassette, the mesh screen, the guide tracks, and the slow-close mechanism.
Housing cassette: A slim aluminum box (about 2" wide) that mounts to one side of your door frame. The screen rolls into this housing when retracted. It's powder-coated to match your door trim.
Mesh screen: A custom-formulated insect screen that's stiff, durable, and practically invisible once installed. Keeps bugs out, lets air through, and doesn't obstruct your view.
Guide tracks: Top and bottom aluminum channels that the screen travels along. These keep the mesh taut and sealed against the frame. Pile weatherstripping inside the tracks prevents gaps.
Slow-close mechanism: This is what separates a quality retractable screen from a cheap one. Apollo's slow-close system retracts the screen at a controlled, even speed. No sudden snap-back. No slamming. Safe around children and pets.

Apollo retractable screen doors come in 7 stock powder-coat colors that cover 90% of home trim colors. Need something different? We offer custom color matching to any RAL or paint code.
The frames are manufactured from 6063 T6 aluminum — the same alloy used in architectural window frames. The powder-coat finish is baked on, not painted. It resists chipping, peeling, and UV fading far longer than spray paint or anodized finishes.
